Events

Sierra Wildlife Rescue offers a variety of classes for anyone interested in local wildlife, the environment, and the world of wildlife rehabilitation. These sessions help participants learn what rehabilitation involves and decide whether they’d like to pursue further training. SWR classes also explore our native species and how to peacefully coexist with wildlife in our community. We round out the series with special-interest topics taught by experienced rescuers and educators. Take one or take them all. They are free to members or $10 each for non-members. We look forward to seeing you there!

Transporting Wildlife

place Sierra Wildlife Rescue 777 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, ca, 95619 expand_more
Organized by arrow_forward_ios Michele Dodge

The Transport group picks up wildlife in need of assistance - it may be as easy as picking up an animal already contained and boxed and taking them to one of our rehab specialists. Or if you choose, you can help to capture animals in need - we provide advanced training for those who are interested! Most of the wildlife we transport is hawks and owls, but you might have opportunities to transport baby possums, squirrels, and other youngsters in need of help. It is a great opportunity to help animals without making an ongoing time commitment - the schedule is very flexible. We also help pick up food for the animals, helping fawns, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, and other hungry creatures. Join us to see if this is the volunteer opportunity for you!
