Events

Sierra Wildlife Rescue offers a variety of classes for anyone interested in local wildlife, the environment, and the world of wildlife rehabilitation. These sessions help participants learn what rehabilitation involves and decide whether they’d like to pursue further training. SWR classes also explore our native species and how to peacefully coexist with wildlife in our community. We round out the series with special-interest topics taught by experienced rescuers and educators. Take one or take them all. They are free to members or $10 each for non-members. We look forward to seeing you there!

BBN Introduction

place Sierra Wildlife Rescue 777 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, ca, 95619 expand_more
Organized by arrow_forward_ios Debbie Buckles Lynette

This class will introduce new volunteers to our organization by explaining our mission and goals, and why we have a seasonal "Baby Bird Nursery" that takes in on the average of 650 songbirds every spring and summer. We will answer questions about why they come into care, where they come from and how we can help rehabilitate and return them to the wild. We will talk about the requirements of being a volunteer, responsibilities while working at the center, and how our volunteer scheduling works. Training is mostly done while at the BBN with staff and more experienced volunteers. No experience is necessary~ just a passion for wildlife and a desire to make a difference for our songbirds.
